It is with great sadness that the DIPC has learned of the death of Róisín Grimley.
For more than three decades, Róisín served the DIPC with dedication and commitment.
There are no words to describe Róisín and her loyalty and service to the DIPC.
Róisín was on the DIPC Executive Committee from its inception. Her roles included Special Projects Co-ordinator and Friends Co-Ordinator. Róisín reached out through her vast network to source Host Families, Piano Practice Houses, DIPC Friends Room Team and Volunteers. Róisín was tireless in her extraordinary dedication to the DIPC, and as Special Projects Co-Ordinator was responsible for sell-out DIPC recitals at the NCH and other venues.
Róisín travelled to London, Paris, New York and other major cities to work with the 1st Prizewinners’ debut recitals. She ferried International Jury members from point A to point B during the Competition, and hosted events for the DIPC in her home, with her husband, Seán, and was always supported by her family.
Róisín’s passion for the DIPC shone through and nothing ever stood in Róisín’s way when it came to the DIPC. Róisín had a special charm, a unique ability to charm everyone who crossed her path, and her glorious smile was captivating.
Róisín was the cherished and loving wife of Seán, mother of Tadhg, Aisling, Conor and Clodagh, grandmother to her adoring grandchildren, a much-loved sister, and an unconditionally loyal friend. Róisín effortlessly inspired the same unconditional loyalty from her friends.
Róisín had strength, determination and resilience. She was as selfless as she was determined, leaving an indelible mark on family, friends and colleagues.
Róisín has left a legacy in life and with the DIPC that will have a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. Róisín will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. The DIPC is the great benefactor of knowing Róisín.
The Board and the entire team of the DIPC offers its sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Róisín’s family.
May Róisín’s Gentle Soul Rest In Peace
