Winning the competition – what it meant for you, the impact on your career.

The Dublin Competition was a great springboard for me. I have been able to live incredible experiences of concerts, meeting new people, discoveries, all over the world.  This is really the strength of  the Dublin International Piano Competition, which does not leave the winners alone in the pursuit of their careers.

Any special memory or anecdote

One of the best memories is the great trips, meals, fun with the whole Competition team, especially Ann Fuller and John O’Conor.  Of course, the concerts were great, but the general atmosphere around the concerts organized by the Competition was a real delight: Playing “Happy Birthday” with 4 hands with John for a friend of his in Washington, debating French elections in 2007 with Ann, making salad sauce at Ann’s… so many little moments that will remain etched in my memory.

Your experience during the competition

I would say that the Dublin International Piano Competition  takes place like “at home”.  It has a family atmosphere.  I was staying with lovely people during the Competition, and everything was done to make the competitors  feel the best.  And of course, I don’t know why, but the atmosphere in the city of Dublin makes it feel good.
